Improving Data Visualization in the Weather Enterprise with Robert Simmon
This week we're talking with Robert Simmon about data visualization in weather. Robert worked for NASA for nearly 20 years as a data and information visualizer. One of Robert's most famous pieces of work is the "Blue Marble 2.0" (if you own an iPhone, you've definitely seen this image), a hemisphere view of Earth. Currently, Robert is the Senior Data Visualization Engineer at Planet Labs where he uses a variety of satellite images to create elegant and easily understood visuals. His products help a range of clients from government officials informing their military to scientists studying glaciers to businesses learning more about their operations.
